Air Seychelles together with the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, recently hosted a group of top media representatives from Israel as part of an initiative to continuously build awareness about destination Seychelles.

The trip which commenced on Thursday, 5 December 2019, on board Air Seychelles flight from Tel Aviv to the Seychelles, allowed the media the chance to experience the airlines’ products and services as well as the Salon Vallee de Mai lounge located at the Seychelles International Airport upon departure.

To boost coverage and promote the Seychelles island as a luxury holiday destination, the media partners accommodated at the Four Seasons Resort in both Mahe and Desroches throughout the familiarization trip, had an extensive calendar of activities which included barbeque style picnic at the Petite Anse beach where they had the chance to assist the Chef with the grilling of vegetables and meat, an activity commonly enjoyed by families and friends living on the island.

To heighten the Seychelles experience, the media team also attended a guided tour of the capital of Victoria, learning about its iconic features hosted by the Seychelles Tourism Board, in addition to meeting with key representatives from the organization to gather information about the ongoing activities being organized to increase visibility of destination Seychelles both within the Israeli market and across the globe.

Throughout their stay in Desroches, apart from exploring the vibrant marine life, the media team fascinated by the pristine environment at the location, had the opportunity to acquire useful facts about the importance of safeguarding the islands ecosystem when viewing the tortoise sanctuary. Other activities included an amazing Seychelles evening at the Claudine Restaurant where the media relished some local delicacies specially prepared for the occasion.

Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Seychelles said: “Destination awareness and knowledge of Seychelles is still very limited in Israel. A key part of building this experience is through media engagement. This is vital for our success on this new route, which is showing very promising figures.”

Impressed with their agenda and sharing their feedback following the successful familiarization trip, the media partners explained that apart from gaining great insights about the various activities one can do during their vacation on the island, the trip has also enabled them to identify the unique aspects that sets the Seychelles apart from other destinations within the Indian Ocean.

The participating media for this first familiarization trip involved representatives from print, digital and social media platforms across Israel including Israel Hayom, Jerusalem Post, Laisha, Lametayel, Passport, Yedioth Ahronoth and Al Arab. The team was accompanied throughout the trip by Air Seychelles Commercial Manager for Europe and Israel, Christine Ozouf.
