Expectant Mothers

Expectant mothers upon reaching the gestation stage starting from 29 weeks to the end of 38 weeks travelling on a return trip between Mahe and Praslin will need to produce a medical certificate or fitness to fly document signed and stamped by their medical doctor or attending midwife at the time of booking and on the day of travel.

The certificate which will certify if the guest is fit to fly must be valid for three weeks (21 days) from the date of issue, must include the number of weeks of pregnancy and the expected date of delivery.

Beyond 38 weeks expectant mothers will not be permitted to travel except in emergency cases where the guest will need to be accompanied by a certified medical staff at all times.

New Born Babies

Parents travelling with infants aged 7 days old and above, will need to produce the birth certificate at the time of booking their ticket and prior to departure at the airport in both Mahe and Praslin.

If the infant is less than 7 days old the parents will need to present the birth certificate or birth notification and discharge summary including a medical certificate to certify the infant is fit to fly.

Parents travelling with infant less than or more than 7 days old requiring special medical assistance will need to present the completed Air Seychelles Medical Form (MEDIF) which can be collected at the airline’s sales office as well as a medical certificate (diagnosis report) certifying that the infant is fit to fly.  In addition, parents will also need to produce the birth certificate or birth notification including the discharge summary for identification purposes.
