Air Seychelles recorded the busiest travel period on its domestic network in 2015, with 3,118 guests flying between Mahé and Praslin for the Feast of Assumption holiday weekend.
In anticipation of the high travel demand for the popular Roman Catholic holiday, the airline operated 21 additional return flights between Friday 14 August and Monday 17 August, with a total of 121 return services being flown over the four-day period.
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “We are pleased to have supported the community in celebrating the Feast of Assumption, which was also a great opportunity for tourists to experience the traditions and customs of Seychelles.
“The extra domestic flights were added to match the level of interest in the market and were met with a fantastic response.
“Additional staff were on duty and more shifts introduced to handle the extra flights, 90 per cent of which were operated on time.”
