Air Seychelles, today welcomed a group of 120 excited school children from Baie Lazare and Takamaka primary on an educational tour onboard the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft at the Seychelles International Airport.
After completing the security procedures upon arrival at the airport, the pupils who were accompanied by their teachers was escorted by the Air Seychelles team on a quick tour around the aircraft under the guidance of Manager Aircraft Maintenance, Darrel Woodruff who explained the different functions of the various aircraft parts and it purposes.
Following that, the kid’s boarded the Airbus A320 aircraft where they had the chance to view a manual demonstration of the emergency procedures conducted by Cabin Manager, Jemmy Edmond, Cabin Senior, Jimmy Bristol and Flight Attendant Rebecca Morel, Brian Estico, Yanick Commetant and Sylvanne Marie.
Apart from experiencing the inflight products and services, the children also had the chance to meet with two jet fleet pilots Captain, Randy Francoise and First Officer, Ashley Confait who provided a detailed explanation about the roles and responsibilities of their job.
Remco Althuis, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “It was a pleasure to host the 120 school children this morning on a special aircraft tour and we are pleased to have this activity at the airport with the support of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority to further contribute towards the schools learning and development programme.
“I can definitely say that the best part of the event was the excitement that was visible on the children’s faces as they board the aircraft to experience the various product onboard and the souvenir photo they will keep for a lifetime.
“The tour also kicked-off a series of week-long activities we are organizing to mark the airline’s 40th anniversary taking place this coming Friday, 26 October in both Mahe and Praslin of which we are excitedly looking forward to meet with students from other schools as part of the programme we have planned to celebrate this occasion.”
At the end of the tour to kick off the airline’s 40th anniversary celebrations the children enjoyed a delicious cake and refreshments prepared by Skychef in addition to receiving Air Seychelles gift bags to take home as a souvenir of the day out.
