Air Seychelles welcomes 10th Indian Ocean Island Games Torch
Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles was honoured to transport the 10th Indian Ocean Island Games torch on board its A320 aircraft from Mauritius to the Seychelles.
The torch was carried on board the aircraft by the President of the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga), Mr. Antonio Gopal, who is also the President of the Conseil International des Jeux (Cij).
The flight operated on Saturday, I June 2019, was commanded by Captain Winsley Confiance and First Officer Christopher Betts supported by Cabin Manager Jerris Cadeau, Cabin Senior Anick Souris, including Flight Attendants Nicolette Adelaide as well as Angela Nicette who also had the chance to take a souvenir photo with Mr. Gopal.
The traditional torch relay set to begin on Monday, 3 June will proceed to the southern part of Mahe stopping at different schools along the way before going to Praslin and La Digue. The torch will leave Seychelles for Mauritius on Thursday, 6 June 2019, on flight HM049.
The multi-sport event held every four years gathering all the islands within the Indian Ocean including Madagascar, Reunion, Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros and Maldives ,will this year be hosted by Mauritius as from 19 July until 28 July, 2019.
