Air Seychelles and Etihad Airways have once again shown support for the Cancer Concern Association by sponsoring the shipment of breast prostheses from Australia to Seychelles.
The breast forms were donated by Sophia Harryba, a Seychellois doctor in Australia, with support from Richard and Debby Blettner, breast cancer survivors and executive managers of The Family International Western Australia, Breast Care Western Australia and Cancer Council Western Australia.

Josie Michaud Payet, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Air Seychelles together with Elizabeth Julienne, Mother of Dr Harryba, handed over the consignment to Bishop Chang Him, Chairman of the Cancer Concern Association, at a ceremony that took place today at the Air Seychelles Head Office.

This is the second time the airlines have sponsored the airfreight costs for the donation, with the first one being sent by Dr Harryba in July 2015.

Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “There are many courageous women fighting breast cancer in Seychelles who we wanted to support through this project.
“We have built a strong partnership with the Cancer Concern Association and are pleased that we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this debilitating condition.”

Bishop Chang Him said: “We would like to thank Air Seychelles, Etihad Airways and Dr Harryba for bringing these prostheses all the way from Australia to Seychelles.
“This donation will go a long way in helping breast cancer patients who have had a mastectomy to regain a better quality of life.”
