Air Seychelles' baggage allowance across its regional network is based on the total weight concept instead of the number of bags being checked-in. All checked in baggage should not exceed the maximum dimensions of 90cm (height) x 75cm (width) x 43cm (depth). All hand baggage should not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm (height) x 40cm (width) x 20cm (depth).

Baggage Allowance - Regional Network

Business Class

  • Checked Baggage allowance is 40KG

  • Child travelling in Business Class will be allowed the same baggage allowance as per the respective class of travel
  • Infant between 0 to 23 months will be entitled only 10 KG of checked in baggage
  • Parents travelling with an infant or child can also bring one pram in addition to the normal baggage allowance entitlement
  • The airlines will not accept any single item of checked in baggage over 32 KG in weight. Any baggage exceeding the 32 KG weight limit should be repacked or will not be accepted for carriage.

Economy Class

Notice
  • If your Air Seychelles ticket itinerary includes flights operated by other airlines, different baggage rules may apply.
  • If your ticket is issued by another airline, please consult that airline to determine the applicable baggage rules.

    Baggage Allowance - Domestic Flights

    • All residents (point-to-point) will be allowed a total of 20 KG for travel on the domestic route, which includes 15 KG of checked baggage and 5 KG of carry on hand baggage per person.
    • Non-residents (point-to-point) will be allowed a total of 28 KG for travel on the domestic route, which includes 23 KG of checked baggage and 5KG of carry on hand baggage per person.
    • Guests holding a through ticket from an international flight will be allowed the same baggage allowance on the connecting domestic flight as part of the baggage allowance entitlement stated on the ticket from the original point of travel.

    • Acceptable hand baggage will include either a handbag, laptop bag, slim-line backpack or briefcase.
    • Reusable shopping bags, printed plastic bags and oversized open tote bags will not be accepted as checked in or hand carried baggage on any flight.

    • The airlines will not accept any single item of checked in baggage over 32 KG in weight. Any baggage exceeding the 32 KG weight limit should be repacked. 
    • Alternatively, guests carrying any baggage exceeding the 32KG weight limit are advised to contact the airlines’ cargo department via email at cargocommercial@airseychelles.com or by phoning +248 4391046 or +248 4391311 prior to their flight.
    • As the airline cannot guarantee that the baggage will arrive in Praslin or Mahé on the same flight, guests will be notified by the guest service agent on duty to collect their baggage at the airport once it arrives at their final destination.

    Fishing

    Rods and reels.

    Must be contained in a case and one bag with fishing tackle, landing net, and fishing boots.

    Cycling

    Non motorized bicycle.

    Handlebars fixed sideways and pedals removed. Pedals and handlebars encased in plastic. Tyres deflated. Enclosed in Cardboard.

    Diving

    Scuba tank, scuba regulator, tank harness, and tank pressure gauge (subject to max weight).

    For additional pieces, the standard excess baggage rate per piece shall apply.

    Golf

    Bags containing clubs, balls, umbrellas and golf shoes must not exceed maximum dimensions of 90cm (height) x 75cm (width) x 43cm (depth).

    Surfing

    Surfboard.

    Must be a maximum of 292 cm (115 inches) in length and 60cm (24 inches) in width. Can only be carried on international flights.

    Windsurfing

    Windsurf.

    Must compose one surfboard, one piece of wooden mast, one piece of pole and one sail only. Must not exceed 292cm (115 inches) in length and 60 cm (24 inches) in width. The windsurf bag must not contain personal effects. Wind surfboards will be accepted only if their masts/sails are removable and foldable. Equipment can only be carried on international flights.

    • Your sports equipment should be part of your checked baggage allowance 
    • The sport equipment must not exceed the maximum size of 90cm (height) x 75cm (width) x 43cm (depth).
    • Excess baggage fees will be charged on each sport item exceeding the weight limit. Please refer to the 'Excess Baggage Rates' section above for excess baggage fees.

    When passing through security at the airport remove from your cabin baggage for individual inspection:

    • All large electrical items, e.g. laptops, large digital cameras and DVD players.
    • The clear plastic bag containing your bottles and tubes.
    • Please see Prohibited items list here, which for safety reasons, must not be carried in the passengers baggage.

    • Medication accompanied by a prescription or relevant medical certificate. Baby food in liquid form.

     

    Cabin Restrictions to the US

    General information

    All US bound Guests travelling from Seychelles on Air Seychelles flights will be required to pack their electronic items which are bigger than smart phones in their check in baggage. Items include – but are not limited to - laptops, tablets, cameras & e-readers.

    This policy is in line with the decision taken by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in consultation with relevant Departments and Agencies, which has determined it is prudent to enhance security, to include airport security procedures for passengers at certain last point of departure airports to the United States. These enhancements include more stringent measures applied to 10 specific airports.

    The affected overseas airports are: Queen Alia International Airport (AMM), Cairo International Airport (CAI), Ataturk International Airport (IST), King Abdul-Aziz International Airport (JED), King Khalid International Airport (RUH), Kuwait International Airport (KWI), Mohammed V Airport (CMN), Hamad International Airport (DOH), Dubai International Airport (DXB), and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).
