Air Seychelles offers special meals for our guests who have special dietary, religious or medical requirements. All requests should be made 24 hours before departure through your travel agency, the Air Seychelles sales offices or the "My Trips" function in the flight search panel. In addition, all meals served on Air Seychelles flights are Halal, prepared in strict compliance with halal requirements. There is no need to specifically request this type of Special Meal.
- Religious Meals
Hindu Meal (HNML)
This meal is available for members of the Hindu community who are not strictly vegetarian and eat meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: lamb, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, and dairy products.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: beef or beef products.
Vegetarian Jain Meal (VJML)
This meal is for members of the Jain community who are pure vegetarians. It is prepared Asian style.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: fresh fruit and stem vegetables that grow above the ground.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: animal products and by-products, and any root vegetables such as onions, mushrooms, ginger, garlic, potatoes, carrots, beets, radishes, etc.
Kosher Meal (KSML)
Kosher meal prepared to comply with Jewish dietary requirements.
- Vegetarian Meals
Asian Vegetarian Meal (AVML)
This meal is available for vegetarian passengers. It is usually aromatic and spicy, and incorporates flavours from the Indian sub-continent. Can qualify as a vegetarian Hindu meal.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: all types of vegetables, fresh fruit and milk products.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: any type of meat, fish or eggs.
Vegetarian Meal (VGML)
Also known as Vegan, this meal is totally free of any animal products or by-products such as eggs or dairy products.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: all types of vegetables and fresh fruit.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: any type of meat, fish, or animal products or by-products.
- Medical and Dietary Meals
Gluten-Free Meal (GFML)
This meal is available for passengers who are allergic or intolerant to gluten (a protein of wheat, barley, oats, or rye).
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: dairy products, fresh vegetables, salads, fruit, fish, lean meats, and rice.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: bread, sauces, pasta, custard, cakes, chocolates, rolls or crackers.
Bland Meal (BLML)
This meal is available for those who suffer from disorders of the stomach and /or the digestive tract. It contains mostly soft food that is easily digestible and without spice.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: mashed potatoes, fresh spinach, soft-boiled eggs, boiled meats, toast, milk, and dairy products.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: baked or fried food, garlic, onions, or spices.
Diabetic Meal (DBML)
This is a low-sugar meal for passengers suffering from diabetes (high sugar levels).
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: low fat milk, butter, plain yoghurt, lean meats, boiled or pureed potatoes, vegetables, and fresh fruit.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: any kind of sugar (only certain permitted sugar substitutes may be used).
Low Fat Meal (LFML)
This meal is available for passengers who need to minimise their intake of fatty foods. Also suitable for passengers requiring a low cholesterol meal.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: margarine, cottage cheese, egg whites, boiled rice, potatoes, lean meats, fish, wholegrain bread, cereals, and fresh fruit.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: milk, cream, fat, cheese, egg yolks, or fatty meats.
Non-Lactose Meal (NLML)
This meal may be ordered for those who are allergic or intolerant to milk and milk products, or those suffering from low lactose levels.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: salads, vegetables and other foods high in fibre, pasta, rice, fish, or meat.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: milk and milk products, sauces, soft rolls, pastries or croissants.
Low Sodium/ Low Salt Meal (LSML)
This meal is for those who suffer from high blood pressure.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: salt-free margarine, foods low in sodium content, fresh fruit and vegetables.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: salty cheese, sauces, dressings, smoked, salted or preserved meat and fish.
- Other Special Meals
Child Meal (CHML)
This meal may be ordered for children between the ages of 2 and 12 years.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: chicken, fish, fries, pasta, chocolate, crisps, crackers, milk and dairy products, fruit and fruit juices. A vegetarian child meal can also be provided.
Baby Meal (BBML)
A standard range of proprietary brands of baby meals are available on Air Seychelles flights. Parents are however encouraged to carry baby foods familiar to and preferred by their babies. Milk or baby meals can be heated on board.
Fruit Platter (FPML)
This meal may be ordered for dietary reasons. It may also be ordered by members of certain communities who eat only fruit while fasting.
CONTAINS one or more of these ingredients: seasonal fresh fruit.
DOES NOT CONTAIN: canned fruit.
- Nut or Peanut Allergies
We do not offer nut-free flights. Meals containing nut or nut derivatives may be served on Air Seychelles flights.
An allergic reaction to peanuts or their by-products can be quite serious. As Air Seychelles cannot guarantee peanut-free meals, we request that you bring your own meal on board if you have a peanut allergy. Please note that other passengers may also bring food onboard which could contain nuts. It is therefore possible that traces of nut residue oils could be passed on to the seating, other surfaces or via the air conditioning system on board the flight.
