When you’re there

So, you’ve planned the ins and outs of your trip and now the time has come to get on a plane and enjoy your dream holiday. Here are some things to consider while you’re there, from transport, useful contacts and common phrases, take a look at the tips and tricks below.

Transport from the airport

As with most other travel destinations, travelling to and from the airport in the Seychelles does not pose a problem. There are many options available, considering visitors aren’t likely to have other means of transportation. From public transport, private transport to shuttles, you’re sure to find a way to travel between your accommodation, the airport, and your many adventurous explorations.

The most affordable option is public transport in the form of buses and shuttles. While buses are available all around the archipelago, shuttles are exclusively for use from the airport to hotels and/or ferries (depending on the location of your accommodation) and back. This option might be the most affordable but might not get you to your destination in one trip. Note that your destination will affect the price, as you may need to transfer between shuttles, each time paying a fee.

Ultimately, the best option for travelling to and from the airport is private transport. There are many reliable companies that offer taxi and shuttle services to visitors, and while it’s the more expensive option, the comfort and efficiency make it worthwhile. You can book private transportation for arrival, departure or even round trip.

Getting around the Seychelles

Once you’re in the Seychelles, your itinerary will likely have you travelling from one area to the next to ensure you make the most of your stay. This means that you’ll need a means of transportation to navigate between all the sights and attractions. Getting around in the Seychelles is a fairly simple task, considering you have multiple transport options.

If you’re located on one of the islands and want to take a trip to a different one, you can easily catch a domestic flight. Booking a flight with Air Seychelles will allow you to see all of the attractions the Seychelles has to offer. Alternatively, if you need to travel around a single island, you can make use of public transport like buses or even hire a car. If your travels involve short trips across large bodies of water, you can take a ferry.
