Qualifications and skills
- Auto Electrician or Motor Mechanic City and Guilds Certificate or Diploma and any relevant Engineering Trade Test Certificate in Automotive Electrician.
- Workshop experience or experience as an Auto Electrician Technician.
- Highly accomplished in trouble shooting and carrying out installation, repairs, replacement and maintenance of auto electrical systems.
- Skilled in handling, reading and maintaining electrical measuring tolls and equipment.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering and electrical schematics and symbols.
- Skills in handling both light and heavy plant equipment.
- Good communication skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Highly organized with excellent time management.
- Safety-oriented attitude
- Reliable and responsible.

Summary
- Inspect electrical systems, diagnose malfunctions and repair/replace electronic components on Ground Support Equipment & vehicles.
- Ensure that exchange of parts are verified and acknowledged when repair is not possible.
- Operate company’s vehicle and equipment for proper service and safe operation and report significant defects and discrepancies relating to the electrical systems.
- Responsible to monitor day-to-day activities with consideration to operational safety & security-related risks.
- Respond to work requirements outside of rostered shifts.
- Assist the GSE Workshop Manager with specific problems regarding the condition of equipment and running of the shift.
- Act on behalf of the GSE Workshop Manager as delegated by the Manager GSE, in the case of the GSE Workshop Manager’s absence.
- Undertake special tasks and projects as assigned by the GSE Workshop Manager or Manager GSE.
