Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has announced that it will expand its flying in the region with the introduction of a fifth weekly service between Seychelles and Mumbai starting from Thursday, 28 January, 2016 and a fifth weekly service between Seychelles and Mauritius starting from Thursday, 4 February, 2016.

The new services to Mumbai and Mauritius have been introduced to accommodate the growing traffic between these regional centres and Seychelles.

Joël Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport and Chairman of Air Seychelles, said: “The introduction of additional services to destinations in the region means further expanding Seychelles as a regional hub.  Since the launch of the nonstop services to Mumbai and Mauritius, Air Seychelles has continued to enhance its travel offering and build on its operation.

“Today it is well positioned for further growth in the region which will additionally strengthen the position of Seychelles as a destination and a centre for trade and commerce in the Indian Ocean.

Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: "We are delighted to meet the strong travel demand to and from Mumbai and Mauritius markets by introducing the fifth scheduled service to both destinations.

“These services, operated by Air Seychelles Airbus A320 aircraft, will provide an additional 544 return seats per week.  Both, Mauritius and India remain very important regional markets for Air Seychelles and we are committed to developing these routes and carrying a greater number of leisure travellers across our growing network.

“We appreciate the support of the Seychellois, Mauritian and Indian Civil Aviation Authorities and their assistance in making these flights possible, which will further strengthen the tourism and trade ties between our countries.”

As part of these network changes, the Dar es Salaam service will be moved from the current Wednesday operation to Thursday effective 28 January 2016.

Additional Mumbai and Mauritius seats are now open for sale and can be purchased by contacting the Air Seychelles contact centre on +248 439 1000, through travel agents or any Air Seychelles sales office.
