Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Manager

• Lead the process of developing, recommending, and enforcing company-wide OS&H policy and standards, and the modification of existing standards.

• Establish and manage the OS&H Programme, including requesting root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions to findings, and monitoring the effectiveness of changes resulting from corrective actions.

• Design and organise theoretical and practical safety and health related training in liaison with the Operations Support & Transformation Department and Training section in HR.

• Prepare reports and occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.

• Administer the Incident/Accident Reporting Process in conjunction with the Compliance & Safety Department, which includes; categorizing incidents, investigating, interviewing, report writing, etc.

• Liaise with the Ministry of Health, Employment and other related regulatory organizations to ensure the airline is compliant to industry-recommended practices, and is up-to-date with new developments in the OS&H field.

• Disseminate OS&H related information throughout the company in the medium deemed appropriate, e.g. Newsletters/Bulletins/Flashes, etc.

• Manage and implement the Psychoactive Substance Abuse policy.

• Participate in staff induction process.

Our preferred profile:

•Degree in Occupational Safety and Health

•Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or NEBOSH diploma level 6

•2 to 4 years’ experience, with at least 2 years in an occupational safety and health related employment

•Complete understanding of the Seychelles Occupational Safety and Health Decree.

•Familiarity with quality assurance/compliance processes.

•Capable of investigating accidents/incidents and recommending preventative actions.

•Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication competencies.

•Excellent report writing skills.

•Strong analytical skills.

•Excellent IT skills – MS Office/G-Suite proficiency

•Ability to work in a highly-regulated environment

•Highly organised with excellent time management

•Excellent team working skills

•Ability to work unsupervised and independently

•Diligent with great attention to detail

•Prepared to work outside regular hours to complete goals and meet business requirement
