About the Role:
Air Seychelles is looking for Ramp Agent for the Praslin Station to assist with loading and unloading of baggage and cargo to and from the aircraft or the baggage sortation area in a safe and efficient manner to ensure timely flight turnarounds, and to conduct ramp duties in a safe and appropriate manner as per company and customer airline procedures and in conformance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Abide to all references of quality and/or standards that are laid out in different areas of service provision that meet the safety, operational and commercial objectives of the airline
- Responsible for safe and accurate loading and unloading of aircrafts in accordance with company procedures and/or customer airlines requirements and in conformance with regulatory standards.
- Responsible for safe operation of ground support equipment, and carry out ground handling duties as per ramp safety standards - i.e.: marshalling, positioning of steps, chocks, safety ones and operating aircraft doors.
- Accountable to identify and report safety and security-related occurrences and hazards in accordance with company procedures and local regulations.
- Identify hazardous or leaking packages that may cause danger to the aircraft or loading personnel, and promptly report to the supervisor.
- Assist with sortation of baggage in the baggage make-up area according to flight numbers and fill up the bingo charts for each flight.
- Maintain cleanliness of all equipment for ground handling use, and cleanliness of designated areas, such as the loader’s restroom, baggage make-up area and baggage room; Clean aircraft cabin before each departure and tidy-up seat belts.
- Assist Guest Services Agent with weighing and lifting of baggage and cargo at check-in counters, while assuring excellent customer service.
- Conduct FOD checks before arrival/departure of flights
- Assist with the embarking and disembarking of passenger’ in wheelchairs and stretchers.
Requirements:
- Graduate of a secondary educational institution, plus minimum 1 to 2years working experience in related field
- Basic numerical and checking skills
- Possesses a safety-conscious attitude
- Customer service oriented with a pleasant personality– Approachable, polite and helpful.
