We are ready to go the extra mile to make your journey as comfortable as possible. Send us a special request assistance at the time of booking or no later than 72 hours prior to departure via email at support@airseychelles.com and we will take care of you.

If you are suffering from any medical conditions and will need assistance on the ground and on board the aircraft, please view our 'Fitness to Fly' guidelines to understand the procedures you need to follow to allow us to determine if you are medically fit to fly. 

Passengers requesting the following assistance must hold a medical certificate in English signed by a certified medical practitioner, confirming that they are fit to fly. The passenger must travel with a companion who is able to assist them on board the aircraft at all times and in case of an emergency.

Passengers with disabilities: Passengers experiencing mental, physical or total immobility must be accompanied at all times. Depending on the level of mobility, at Air Seychelles we can provide wheelchair assistance as follows:

Passengers can ascend or descend steps to make their own way to/from the cabin seat in addition to taking care of his/her own needs on board the aircraft without assistance. Wheelchair assistance is required only  to/from aircraft that are across the ramp, finger dock or to the lounge as applicable.

Passengers cannot ascend or descend steps, but are able to make their own way to/from the cabin seat. Wheelchairs are required on the ramp to and from the aircraft including to and from the aircraft door.

Completely immobile passenger, unable to move around the aircraft cabin unassisted. Passenger is unable to take care of his/her own needs on board the aircraft. Wheelchair assistance must be provided upon arrival up to the country of destination.

• Ensure to arrive at the airport 3 hours before your flight departs.
• Carry relevant medical certificates including certified doctor prescriptions if traveling with medications on board the aircraft.
• Reduced mobility passengers need to be able to use a regular aircraft seat with seatback in an upright position during taxi, take-off and landing.
• For safety reasons, emergency exit rows are not available to passengers with reduced mobility and as a seat option during online check-in.

Air Seychelles offers oxygen services on all of its aircraft in both Economy and Business Class. The airline uses the “Zero Two” oxygen cylinder which is compatible with other medical equipment. This service available at an additional charge must be requested at least 72 hours prior to departure via email at medif@airseychelles.com

Some medical conditions require that you inform the airline of your travel in advance, to ensure that you are comfortable and well assisted throughout your journey.

In order to certify that it is safe and that you are fit to fly, medical clearance will be required in case you need to use medical equipment or supplementary oxygen on board the aircraft.

Some examples of conditions that require medical clearance are as follows:

• Anaphylaxis
• Recent illness, hospitalization, surgery or injury including bone fractures
• Heart disease
• Lung disease
• Ear and sinus problems
• Psychiatric, behavioral or neurological conditions
• Epilepsy
• Late stages of pregnancy
• Passengers suffering from a disease, infection or condition which is believed to be actively contagious and communicable, which may poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others on the flight;
• Passengers requiring a stretcher.

A personal care attendant is required to travel with passengers with disabilities who are not self-reliant. The personal care attendant has to be fully familiar with the physical condition of the passenger and must be capable of attending to the passenger’s in-flight needs such as medical procedures, feeding, assistance in using the lavatory facilities, assistance in case of any delays or flight irregularities.

The ground staff, at the time of check-in will confirm that the passenger can perform the following personal functions:

• Ability to feed themselves.
• Ability to take care of their own needs within the lavatory.
• Ability to administer their own medicine and medical procedures.

If a passenger is unable to comply with any of the above conditions, they should ideally travel with a personal care attendant. Please request for stretcher assistance at the time of booking or email medif@airseychelles.com 72 hours prior to departure.

Our grounds team and cabin crew will assist you throughout, providing safety briefings including the necessary assistance needed during the flight.

Air Seychelles welcomes unaccompanied minors between the ages of 6 and 12 and young passengers from 13 to 17 years.  When an unaccompanied minor or young passenger has been accepted for travel on an Air Seychelles flight, ground staff will take care of the child and will hand him/her over to the cabin manager on board the aircraft.

The cabin manager will retain all the documentation for the unaccompanied minor and young passenger including the passport, ticket, health documents and others as required until the aircraft arrives at the country of destination where upon arrival, the cabin manager will hand over all the documents and unaccompanied minor or young passengers to the ground staff at the station.

Requests for unaccompanied minors or young passengers must be completed at any Air Seychelles Offices as a Declaration of Indemnity form will need to be completed and signed, before confirmation is received from the airline certifying the unaccompanied minor or young passengers is authorised to fly with Air Seychelles.

• Unaccompanied minors are children aged 6 to 12 and young passengers aged 13 to 17.
• Children needing special assistance or specific care must be accompanied by a full fare-paying adult or guardian aged 18 years old and above.
• Request for travel of unaccompanied minors and young passengers is applicable on Air Seychelles operated flights only and this service is offered at an additional fee. Note the fee paid is non refundable if the unaccompanied minor or young passengers flight is cancelled voluntarily.
